About The Underline
The Underline gathers news from across higher education and ed tech into one place: trade press, vendor newsrooms, researchers, associations, and the people writing about the field. It's for anyone who wants to keep up without checking dozens of sites.
What's here
Headlines from 91 sources, newest first. Each headline links to the original article, usually with the publisher's own short summary. The site doesn't host or rewrite anyone's work.

- Vendors 21

- Vendor Watch 11

- Orgs & Research 16
- Associations, consortia, foundations, and research groups.
Finding what matters to you
- Topics. Filter any section by Higher Ed, Ed Tech, or Student Success. Choose more than one to see headlines from any of them. Your choice stays on as you move around the site.
- Today's news shows only this morning's edition: everything published since the previous day's update.
- Search covers every headline from the last 90 days.
- Badges. New marks headlines that arrived since your last visit. Major flags big news, such as acquisitions, breaches, layoffs, and lawsuits, for its first two days.
- Highlights. The names of major platforms and organizations, like Canvas, D2L, Ellucian, and EDUCAUSE, are highlighted in headlines so they're easy to spot.
Take it with you
Every section, topic, and source has its own RSS feed. Look for the RSS link at the bottom of any page, or start with everything. To follow the original publishers directly, import the full source list (OPML) into your feed reader.
How it works
- The site updates once a day, early in the morning Pacific time, from the publishers' public RSS feeds.
- Some vendors don't publish a feed. For those, Vendor Watch follows their press coverage through Google News.
- Headlines are sorted into topics automatically by keyword, so the occasional story will land in the wrong one.
- There are no ads, accounts, or trackers. Your preferences (theme, filters, what you've seen) are stored only in your own browser.
